Talking about (religious) faith

This is what I think. Do feel free to disagree, I haven’t done any meta-analyses on it.

A faith is somehow personal. We can’t really fit it to everyone’s need because each person has his/her own set of needs, hence the diversity of faith. What we believe might define who we are, so I guess maybe this is the reason why a faith is somehow important.

A faith –not our religion, but our faith to it- is also (to some degree) imperfect. It can be perfect, but perfection itself is a spectrum. Like an A tone that doesn’t always have a frequency of 440 Hz, so is the faith. Sometimes in our view, a near perfect is perfect; while for another, it’s imperfect. As how most spectrums go, the limit is usually arbitrary. Since it’s arbitrary, to have like a pro-cons argument about it would be pretty much useless unless we have made sure that both parties (or however many parties) are viewing it from the very same point of view. Me and my best friend, for example; few days ago we kind of argued about which one of these Zedd’s song is cooler: Clarity or Addicted to a Memory. He’s been listening to EDM in most of his galau times, so maybe he relates better to the lower-paced and more vulnerable-sounding Clarity. I only started to listen to EDM recently and I like arpeggios, so I relate better with the later. We’re not of the same point of view, so it was no surprise that we didn’t reach any decisions. I guess that happens when it comes to the talk about faith, too.

A faith is something we might feel that we need to blabber about sometimes. As said, a faith might define who we are, so.. if we’re proud about our faith, it might mean that we’re proud of who we are as well. When we’re somehow proud about something, highly likely that there’ll be this inevitable urge to blabber about it; that’s quite human. When the blabber went too much or if we push other people to continuously stand (and buy) our blabber, however, it might turn boring and even annoying. Other people have their own business too, so.. can’t we just let them do their own business so they wouldn’t mess with our business in return? Such. The important thing is to understand the 5W + 1H of blabbering, I guess. If we treat everybody the same way in term of taking our blabber, what people would see from us is that we’re being inconsiderate. If we’re being inconsiderate to other people, why should anybody ever consider whatever things that come out from our mouth? Again, what we give is what we get return.

A faith is also something that –if it is discussed in written form, such as in social media- should be described with proper spelling and punctuation. I mean, how can we even have a healthy discussion if we just don’t get what the ‘conversation partner’ is saying due the massive existence of misspelling and incorrect punctuation? Somehow if we don’t put enough effort to make other people understand (i.e. by using the proper spelling and punctuation), do we really have a right to be angry when people just don’t get us? I don’t think so..

Anyway. If any of you, dear (silent) readers, somehow happen to wonder what my current faith is.. well. I’d say that I have this faith that TRG has been the coolest acapella group on earth for the last three decades, and they’re still gonna be the coolest for some years to come.
